History of H.O. Concrete Supplies Ltd.

 H.O. Concrete Supplies Ltd. was established on the 17th day of December in the year 1958 in Edmonton, Alberta by Mr. Martin Offermann.

In the beginning of the company Mr. Martin Offermann, manager of the manufacturing and construction projects, produced concrete steps, sidewalk blocks, parking curbs and small custom made concrete products.  The company began with five employees.

Fourteen different styles of paving stones were made with a computerized machine added in 1988.  These stones are sold throughout the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.  Precast concrete electrical vaults weighing between 1,000 and 3,500 lbs. began to appear in 1989.  We also manufacture valva chambers weighing 5,000 to 30,000 lbs. and a variety of street light bases, switching cubicles and transformer pads.  In 1990 we produced railroad crossing planks for use in the Toronto and Montreal areas as well as in Calgary.

With the purchase of a Go-Corp machine in 1998 we began production of standard architectural building blocks to C.S.A. standards for a total of about 350,000 that year.  Now, the machine is at full capacity producing one million blocks per year.  In 2000, we bacame H.O. Concrete Supplies Ltd./Canadian Paving Stone (Joint Venture) and built a NEW PLANT with the most modern computerized equipment.
